Description
MAUSER P.08 BYF 41
Detail
This is an outstanding example of a late WWII Mauser contract Luger.

The Mauser factory switched from the earlier "42" code to the last secret wartime code of "byf", that identified the Mauser factory as the manufacturer.

The top of the chamber area still carries the two digit date "41" for the year of manufacture with the new "byf" code markings on the front toggle.

The right side of the barrel extension has the two "Eagle/655" Waffenamt proofs, along with the single "eagle/swastika" firing proof. The left side of the barrel has the single small Eagle firing proof. It is correctly marked in the military fashion with the full serial number on the front of the frame, the left side of the barrel extension and the underside of the barrel with the last two digits on the various small parts.

This series of pistol is still fitted with checkered walnut grips with the all salt blued finish, with one type four, NON MATCH marked magazine

Excellent overall with 95% plus of the bright original, late war blued finish with only minor wear. The grips are also in excellent condition

Mechanically excellent. Just an outstanding original WWII Mauser Luger pistol..
