Description
German M35 Kriegsmarine Stahlhelm
Detail
A rolled rim steel helmet with bushed rivet vent holes and black over apfelgrün layered paint finish, featuring a lightly weathered gold-colored Kriegsmarine eagle decal on the left side.

The black-painted surface exhibits light storage scratching exposing areas of the inner apfelgrün layer and a few isolated spots of flaking to exposed steel with hints of dark brown patina.

The inner face of the skirt is manufacturer marked by Eisenhüttenwerk Thale, reading “ET68” on the left side and “4662” at the rear; the name “CLADDERS” is amateurishly hand-painted in a cream-aged-to-goldenrod color beneath the rear serial number.

The interior lining has lost the size label and rates good overall; the lining is complete but does exhibit partial separation along the edge in the rear right quadrant and across a couple of the ventilated flaps.

The leather’s surface is worn with moderate scuffing and crazing and the chinstrap has been lost. A very honest example of Kriegsmarine headgear.
